Recently, a student saw a post in a Facebook group claiming to “give away badminton shuttles for free—just pay for shipping.” After contacting the poster, the student was told that the $38 shipping fee transaction had failed. The scammer claimed that because the student’s account was “unverified,” it caused the recipient’s account to be frozen.

The student was then directed to a so-called “customer service representative” and instructed to pay a $30,000 “cash flow verification fee” to complete the transaction. Sensing something was wrong, the student immediately contacted the police for verification and discovered it was a “Fake Online Shopping Scam,” successfully avoiding the trap.

🚨 Anti-Fraud Reminder: If an online transaction attracts you with “Free Giveaways, Just Pay Shipping” but later demands payment for “verification fees, security deposits, or cash flow fees,” it is 100% a scam!
