Recently, scam syndicates have been frequently using fake SMS texts, fraudulent websites, and social media ads to trick people into entering their credit card numbers and One-Time Passwords (OTPs). In some cases, scammers even bind these cards to mobile wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay to make unauthorized, fraudulent purchases.

Anti-Fraud Reminders:

  1. Read OTP texts carefully: Always double-check the transaction amount and the intended purpose before entering an OTP.
  2. Avoid suspicious links: Never blindly click on links from unknown sources or download unfamiliar apps.
  3. Monitor your accounts: Check your credit card statements regularly and enable instant purchase notification alerts.
  4. Act fast on anomalies: If you receive an unexpected notification about card-binding or a strange transaction, contact your bank immediately to verify.
