Ever scroll through Facebook or Instagram and see these heartbreaking ads? “Heartbroken Farmer in Tears! Huge fruit surplus this year—direct from the orchard for just $XX a box. Please help us get through this crisis…”

Hold your horses before you buy! This isn’t a cry for help from a local farmer. It’s a carefully crafted trap by scammers combining “pity marketing” and “fake shipping phishes”!

The 3-Step Scam Blueprint:

  • Step 1: Fake Farmers, Too-Good-To-Be-True Prices (Luring you in with sob stories and cheap deals)
  • Step 2: Fake Shipping Links (Stealing your personal and payment info via phishing links)
  • Step 3: “Verification Failed” (Fake customer service steps in to guide you through fraudulent transfers)

The “3 NOs” Anti-Fraud Protocol:

  1. NO blind trust: Be suspicious of prices that are too low.
  2. NO clicking: Never click on unverified links.
  3. NO compliance: Never follow instructions to transfer money or operate ATMs.
