Recent cyber security alerts have raised serious red flags! Many parents and citizens have reported that while browsing video or adult websites, an official-looking webpage from the “Criminal Investigation Bureau” (CIB) suddenly pops up. The page accuses the user of viewing illegal content related to “child sexual exploitation,” locks their device, and threatens permanent lockouts or criminal liability unless a hefty fine is paid online via credit card within a strict time limit.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau strictly clarifies that this is 100% a fake webpage created by scam syndicates! Law enforcement agencies will never use pop-up windows to demand online credit card payments for fines. This tactic deliberately exploits the public’s fear of getting a criminal record, aiming to steal credit card information for fraudulent charges.
If you accidentally encounter this screen, please stay calm and remember these three steps:
1.Close the webpage immediately and clear your browsing history.
2.Never enter your credit card information.
3.Take a screenshot and upload it to the “165 Anti-Fraud Website” to report it.
If you have already entered your information, please contact your card-issuing bank immediately to report the card as lost or compromised.
Remember, you can utilize the AI customer service on the “165 Anti-Fraud Dashboard” to verify suspicious URLs in real time.
