Campus Security Center Notice for 115th Summer Vacation Student Activity Safety: Summer Drug Abuse Prevention—Stay Clear of Emerging Drugs, Protect Your Health and Stay Within the Law!

Lifestyle routines often change during the summer vacation, but the recent surge in emerging illicit drugs and e-cigarettes poses a severe threat to physical and mental health. The Campus Security Center has specially compiled the following key prevention points. We urge parents, teachers, and students to stay highly vigilant and jointly foster a “Healthy Campus”:

1.Etomidate Reclassified as a Category 1 Narcotic; E-Cigarettes are Completely Banned! Recently, multiple casualties caused by driving under the influence of e-cigarettes laced with “Etomidate” (commonly known as “zombie vape cartridges”) have severely endangered public safety. Etomidate has now been reclassified as a Category 1 Narcotic Drug. Manufacturing, transporting, or trafficking it carries a maximum penalty of the death penalty—do not defy the law! Additionally, Taiwan enforces a total ban on e-cigarettes; manufacturing, importing, selling, supplying, displaying, advertising, or even using them is subject to penalties. Please strictly adhere to the “Three No’s Policy”: Do not try, do not purchase, and do not recommend.

2.Exquisite Packaging Conceals Sudden Death Risks; Reject Online Coded Slang and Bait Emerging illicit drugs are often disguised as exquisitely packaged candies, beverages, or cute products to lower your guard. They are frequently laced with multiple types of substances, which can easily cause sudden death. Drug dealers often utilize communication software and short-video apps to sell items at prices much higher than market value using coded slang or QR codes. Please note: possession, selling, transferring, providing for free, or courier delivery of these substances all carry criminal liability. Never accept items from strangers or assist them in carrying packages.

3.High Pay in Part-Time Job Solicitations is a Scam; Never Become a Drug Mule When looking for summer part-time jobs, such as applying to be a delivery rider or traveling abroad for courier gigs, beware of criminals using bait like “high pay, easy work, no experience required” to dupe youths into illegal activities like drug trafficking or smuggling. Do not blindly trust online recruitment messages or invitations from strangers. Before signing a contract, traveling abroad, or sending a package, you must verify that the contents are entirely legal to avoid falling into online drug rings or becoming a drug mule.

4.Joint Protection by Parents and Teachers; Seek Professional Resources and Help Please maintain a regular and disciplined daily schedule, and never rely on medications or drugs to stay awake or fall asleep. If you suspect that someone has mistakenly come into contact with illicit drugs, please contact school teachers immediately, or call the following helplines:

  • Family Education Center Hotline: 412-8185
  • Narcotic Hazard Prevention Center Hotline: 0800-770-885 (Mnemonic: Please, Please Help Me)
  • Ministry of Education Resource Website: https://enc.moe.edu.tw/home

Let parents, teachers, and students unite to build an anti-drug defense line, reject the temptation of drugs, and enjoy a safe, healthy, and fulfilling summer vacation!
