I. Since 2007, motorcycle users have accounted for more than 60% of all traffic accident fatalities and more than 80% of all traffic accident injuries.
In 2017, there were 864 motorcycle riders who died, accounting for nearly 60% of all deaths. The top six causes of motorcycle A1+A2 category accidents
(accounting for about 50% of all accidents) are related to the driver's traffic safety awareness. Therefore, we encourage participation in driver
training to cultivate compliance with traffic rules and correct driving habits, and to develop a defensive driving mindset, hoping to reduce motorcycle
rider injuries and fatalities.
II.The Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications will provide a special subsidy to trainees of ordinary heavy motorcycles
nationwide, with each trainee receiving NT$1,300 (currently the fee is NT$2,800 to NT$3,700), for a total of 59,500 trainees. When attending driving
school, trainees should apply for the subsidy and pay the tuition fee (currently NT$2,800 to NT$3,700) to the driving school where they registered.
After completing the training, trainees who obtain their driver's license before December 15, 2026, can sign and receive the NT$1,300 subsidy at the
driving school where they registered.
